Oren turns ONE!

I can't believe that my baby is ONE already. Time went by so fast.
One year ago today I was getting everything packed in my bags so we would be ready to go to the hospital to have a little Oren Dean grace us with is presence. He was born 11/11/11 at 12:10pm. I will never forget the 9 months that we shared together even though he gave me a lot of problems but it was all worth it in the end.
Oren is completely different than Donaven in so many ways. He keeps us on our toes at all times.
We are so lucky to have him in our lives. He is something special. For his birthday I wanted to do something fun and interesting and I did. I looked on the internet mostly Pinterest (love that place), and I found the perfect theme for my little guy. Its unique just like him. I try and do a theme that matches their personality. But Oren is just all over the place. He can do nothing and be happy. Doesn't have to have a certain toy every day, just goes with the flow (mostly his brother :) So I came across the theme of UNO and feel in love. So that was his amazing theme. I worked all month long on different projects when I could. Since Travis birthday is just two days after Oren we decided that we would just combine them and have a double birthday party. I know the theme wasn't that great for Travis but got to pick the food and got presents too. So it all worked out :) We had two parties one was with the Baker family and the second was with the Lang family. Both went well.

I made both of the boys shirts. That was a project in a half. I found many different things on pinterst but then my sister in law told me she new a easier way. So I returned everything and went the easier way. Loved them. All I did was buy fabric transfer paper and took an uno card to the store and had them blow it up for me, then printed it out on the transfer paper and iron on the shirt. LOVE it. I have even washed it and stayed on and nothing came off. I will do that again. Travis shirt is the Wild one.
These are my fun photos that I took to make his invitation. He loved being able to play with cards and not get them taken away :) Still working on figuring out how to put my invitation up on here so when I do I will post again.

This was his face after opening a present from Grandma/Grandpa Baker. It was priceless and so fun to watch him. He wasn't sure about everything at first. He reminded me of Donaven because after each piece of paper he took off he would have to hand it to someone before he began opening the present again. :) Donaven had a hard time letting just his brother open present but daddy was nice and let Donaven help him open his presents.
This is probably my favorite thing I made for the party. Thank you so much to Kim Baker for helping me put it together and Mom Baker for letting me use your cake pans.
This was Oren wonderful cake the Aunt Heather made of him. Super cute and I was able to bring the bottom part home and we used it at the Lang party.
Travis isn't a big fan of cake so Heather did cookies which are his favorite and that was his cake.
These are the party favors that we gave out. Filled them all with m&m and one UNO card. Love it
My longest project that I did were these posters. If you remember back in grade school when you made tissue paper projects, where you would use little squares of tissue paper and you used glue and end of pencil and twisted and them put on paper. Well That is what those are. TOOK FOREVER. I used a projector from Kim and blew them up big enough and then started the process. Oren is #1 and Travis was the Reverse sign. I wish I would have done a Wild but I wasn't really thinking. But I love it too.

He really enjoyed his cake and ice cream! Then towards the end he was done so he started throwing it on the floor and laughing. Little stinker.

Then I took old UNO cards that my mother in law didn't want and put holes in them and made my banners. I had them all over the house. Super fun.
I sure hope everyone that came to the parties enjoyed themselves and had a good time. Happy Birthday to my wonderful Husband who is amazing and so good to me and the kids 11/13. So lucky to have you in our lives. To my little Oren. You may not care or even remember this birthday but it was fun and Happy birthday to you on 11/11/.

We also meet a wonderful new family in our ward. The funniest thing is that both boys were born on 11/11 just about half hour difference and were delivered by the same doctor at the same hospital. So I think they were meet to be buddies. So to celebrate their birthday we went to jabbers and let them run wild. We had a blast.

Many different faces of Mr. O

Where do I begin?

Well since I left off in December I will start with the first of the year. Beware its long.

OREN: I have enjoyed watching him grow and become his own little person. From the beginning I knew it was going to be different then Donaven. He has been a bit more of a challenge for me. Not that he is a bad babe because he is not just different. He started taking a bottle when I went back to school and then one day all of sudden stopped. YES STOPPED. He refuses to eat. He will go 10-12 hours without eating, and he refused to eat food. I tried so hard to get him to take a bottle when I wasn’t home but it never worked. So after 2 weeks of trying and crying I gave up. It was so hard on us (most me I think). It took 2 hours just to get him to drink maybe 2 ounce if that. You had to pin him down and pray he would take it. So I asked my doctor what to do and she has told me I need to leave him for a weekend with someone and maybe he will learn to drink from a bottle. Then he got sick with an ear infection, then we went on vacation for almost 2 weeks came on home Travis didn’t have 2 days off in a row then he got another ear infection thought it was done and then he got another one and the doctors says the medication didn’t work. Then he got pink eye which I have no idea how he got that but he did. So needless to say I have not left him for a weekend. So I pretty much just gave up and decided to stick it out till the end of the year since he will be ONE already. Insane that my baby will be one already.

He is one lazy butt.:) So before I had him people always told me never to compare the two boys because they will be completely different and I was convinced that I never would well guess what I did. I didn’t think I was but I caught myself and I felt bad but wow is it hard not to. This kid has rolled over once and it was on the couch at about 3-4mths old and has done nothing since. He was able to sit up on his own by 5mth and when I brought this up to my doctor she said its ok doesn’t matter because he could sit up that all that matters. So that relieved me a little. So it has been nice because I can sit him down anywhere and know he will not go anywhere. But little did I know he would soon learn to move and shift in different directions. He is able to get onto him tummy and get back to him butt and he crawls backwards. Which is really funny, but he gets around very well doing that. He still will not roll over to his back so when he gets stuck he will just sit and cry until someone comes to help him. He will pull himself up on objects/people if they are stable enough. He has two teeth coming in on the bottom. He loves to rough house with his older brother which worries me little because Donaven doesn’t know how to be soft at times. There has been a time I come in and Donaven is standing on Oren and Oren is just laughing and thinks it funny. So of course so does Donaven. Oren loves to watch is brother play and be his weird self. He loves to shake his head “no” and clad his hands when you say “Yay Oren.”

He is a MOMMY boy to the max. He will be fine when I am in his eye sight the minute I leave you would of though he was going to die. Some days it funny other days not so much because then I have no quite time. He really is the cutest thing in the world. We are very lucky to have him in our lives. It’s a fun adventure every day with him.

DONAVEN: What to say about him well he is 2 ½ years old so we are getting to the stage of tantrums and well he does have them but not as often as I thought he was going to have them. There will be times that he yells at me trying to get his point across and it is just so funny I just don’t know what to do. My family saw it for the first time the other day and they couldn’t believe their eyes. They laughed so hard and said if he could really talk he could be cursing at me. He loves and I mean LOVES sports. He plays all of them to Baseball, Basketball, Hockey, Gold, Tennis, Soccer. He will play inside or outside. The funniest part is for his bats he will not use his bat he has to use my spatulas and makes up the rules. He will dress you up with a hat, bat and ball. It has been entertaining to see his aunts being dressed up by a 2yr old. But they do just go along and have a blast. They are awesome sports.

He is talking so much more and most people can understand him which is awesome. He loves his little brother and will protect him with all that he has. We got an ipad at the beginning of the year and that kid doesn’t go anywhere without it. I was a little worried at first but he has learned so much from it. He can sometimes work it better than Trav and I can. He even taught his Grandma Great how to use it. She was so shocked to see that he knew how to work it. He can do puzzles with his eyes shut. Loves to watch shows on it, loves to draw and color. He is pretty good taking turns with it but when he has it and doesn’t want to share you better run and hide.

Starting to try and get him interested in potty training. So far so good, he wants to actually sit on the potty which is a big step in
my book. Usually he would just walk in the bathroom and be done with it now he is finally sitting on the potty. He gets so excited about it and wants to do it again. He knows when he is going so we are just about there. Super excited for that next adventure and plus that means I will only have one in diapers which would be awesome. So I am hoping by the time he is 3 which gives me 5 months that he will be potty trained. So wish me good luck. Making Bread for Kimmy and Nono (aunt kim and mel) This is Aunt Anna Aunt Kimmy his new favorite person.

Since this is such a long post I am going to end it here and update Travis and I another day.

(Still learning how to blog so I know this post doesn't look put together. But hey at least I am trying)

New Year

Ok ok I know I said I was going to do better at this whole blog thing. I was on a role and then our sweet little angle came into our life and it’s been crazy good. So lets see if I can catch you up again.

DECEMBER: My mother in law came and stayed with us for a week which was awesome. We enjoyed her company. We blessed Oren on the 4th and we did a double blessing with my cousin who had her baby a month before. It was really nice and all the extended family there. After the meeting everyone came to my house for a baked potato bar. If you have been to my house it isn’t the biggest but it not small either (perfect for our family) we ended up having close to 80 people in our house. Let’s just say crazy. There were people in the bed rooms, outside, in the garage, on the floor, on laps you get the picture. We wouldn’t have it any other way. It was a great day.
Donaven turn 2 on the 17th. He is getting so big. We had just a small little party with family and two of his really good friends the Jefferies. They loved just running around and screaming (lol).
Christmas was awesome. We really enjoyed watching Donaven open his presents. He would unwrap them very slowing and after ripping a piece he would hand it to Travis or I. After each present he wanted to open it and play with it. It was hard to get him to open his other presents. We had to hide the present that he was playing to get him to open his other ones. The thing that I learned and very proud of him is that he is ok with just one present he doesn’t need a ton. Let’s just hope it stays that way.
Then it was my birthday! YAY! Travis took me to a movie and it was the first time that we left Oren and I was really scared but we left him with my mom and I knew he would be safe.

January: We went on our first road trip with both boys to Pocatello to visit the Bakers. We went for 2 days and I can’t believe how much stuff you have to have for 2 kids. It went really well. Donaven and Oren got to spend time with his Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and Grandpa, Grandma. Whenever I go down there I love to play the game 5 crowns. That’s all I want play. Lucky me they love to play it and gave into me and played it over and over again. Then I got my sister in laws Kim and heather to play Just Dance 3. It was the funniest thing ever. I really enjoyed watching them dance and seeing them huff and puff and for being troopers. I have pictures and videos but I don’t think they would like me to post them. So I will hold off until I talk to them. We played for about 2-3 hours.
Our church time switched and now we go at 9am which is going to be nice but not at the same time. The only reason I don’t like it is because I have to get both boys ready along with myself and to the church on time all by myself. Travis isn’t off work until 830-9 and so he will go straight to the church to get the sacrament and then go home and change and come back. It will be difficult on me during sacrament and let’s just hope I don’t have to take them out or that will be a whole different story. I do have to share something though. Sunday in relief society we talked about not judging others and our teacher told a story about how one time she was with her sister in law and there was a homeless guy on the side of the road and the sister in law asked for her purse and wanted to find cash for the homeless person. And the only cash she could find was a $20 and she gave it to him. She couldn’t believe that her sister in law was really giving him a $20 because she doesn’t know what he was going to spend it on. She was like yeah but that’s not my place to judge I am just doing the right thing to help someone. Then they went on their way to the store a few miles away. When they came out of the store that same homeless guy had followed them and he came up to her and told her she was his angel and he was so grateful for her. Because that money was going to feed him and his son and that she would never know what that meant to him. I just got the chills and started crying because home many times has that happened to me when I don’t want to give them money because I think they will just spend it on drugs or cigarettes. But that’s not my place if I can help someone I should. Because the savior would give everything he had to someone if they were in need and I need to do the same. Just got me thinking on how I should can change the way I think and not pre judge those around me.
We went to the doctor the other day for our check ups. Oren is 2 months old and weighs
10 pounds and 21 inches long and is healthy. Donaven is 2 years old and weighs 32 pounds and is 35 inches long. We have healthy boys at our house.

Travis and I are both starting school again this week. So life at our house is going to be very busy. Lucky for us we have scheduled our school time around each other, and there is only one day that we have a conflict and have to rely on someone else to watch both boys. My dad is going to by watching the boy on Tuesday from 5-9 so I hope they don’t wear him out to bad and he will still love them just as much when we are done for the semester.
